Lilly and Bates

Sat, 27 Aug 2005 19:56:06 -0600 - from Michelle

Lilly

Hi! I adopted Lilly on January 9 and have been loving every minute since then. I already had one min pin and decided that one was not enough. As you can tell by the pictures, Lilly is the sweetest thing (the one with cropped ears). She gets along so well with my other min pin, Bates. They like to see which one can get the closest to me! Which, I love every minute of it! I do not know what I would do without my children! Lilly is the one in the chair and under the covers. Bates is the one with the ball in his mouth always wanting to play and his ears standing straight up!

Thank you for letting me share my family!

God Bless,
Michelle, Bates and Lilly

Theo and Roxie

Sat, 24 Dec 2005 17:16:57 EST - from Shawn

Theo, Roxie

i would like to submit a few photos of theo, our alabama rescue 2003, and his sister roxie, our first min pin we got from a farm in maryland.

theo is doing wonderful. he arrived a scared and scrawny little boy. he had been abused and starved before a neighbor called animal rescue. i fell in love with is giant ears on the website and had him sent from alabama to florida where we lived at the time. he has been my loyal companion ever since. he is weighing in at about 10 lbs. now. he was only 4lbs. when he was picked up by the rescue organization and he was about 7 lbs. when we adopted him. he is a very happy little boy with a sister who plays with him non-stop. they run through the house and the yard like maniacs and they are on constant patrol at the windows and the outside gate. i would have a dozen if my husband would let me!

the photos are of the two in their reindeer ears, getting a california tan, individual shots, and theo holding on tight to the corn cob he scored out of the trash on thanksgiving. he was so proud of his score!.

theo (the rescue) is the one with the giant stand up ears. roxie is the one with the floppy ears.

thanks so much,
shawn

Dixie (formerly Judy) in her new home

Wed, 13 Sep 2006 14:04:40 -0700 (PDT) - from Cheryl, via Debra

Dixie Dixie

I wanted to thank you again for all your help. Dixie has settled in wonderfully at home. She loves to steal toys from the Rhett (the Sheppard), she is too funny! She has learned to climb up in a flower pot I have and sit there to look out the dinning room window. The others have taught her to bark. She has the cutest little squeaky bark too!

Thank you,

Cheryl

Hi Mag,

Meet the three amigos, Lily, Noah, and Zeus are all IMPS dogs needing a new home. Their foster mom sent this photo letting everyone know how patient they are with her 11 yr old daughter. She loves to dress them up, her mom said this is what happens when you have an only child.

Piccolo

Tue, 24 Oct 2006 20:01:29 -0400 - from Courtney

I adopted Suzy Q on Feb. 19 and renamed her Piccolo (I'm a music teacher)

She's happy and enjoys her home... we walk, explore, talk, and snuggle in front of the TV (a lot)

She's lost her overweight 1 extra pound and has a clean bill of health by her vet.

I LOVE MY MIN PIN... she's like a child to me... I even talk to her like she would be my child

About Jody

Mon, 27 Nov 2006 14:30:54 -0500 - from Patty

Jody

In November 2000 (on Thanksgiving weekend, in fact), a red male min pin named Jody (approx 4 years old) came to live with me. Jody had been hit by a car and was still recovering from his surgery while he was waiting for someone to take him home. His foster mother said no one wanted to consider Jody because he wasn't looking so cute and not walking real well. I asked to take Jody home for a trial after an unfortunate experience with another adoption attempt. Within 3 hours, Jody and I knew he was home for good. He fully recovered and walked just fine. Jody has been my best buddy and constant companion for the last 6 years. He brought more joy to my life than I ever could have imagined. Jody's a lover and everyone who met him loves Jody. On Tuesday,, November 7, 2006, I had to say good-bye to my sweet boy and let him go to rest where nothing hurts and the sun always shines. He was about 10 or 11 years old. We always celebrated his birthday on Thanksgiving so this year was tough. My heart is broken but I cherish every day I had with him.

This past Saturday, Loretta from IMPS came to pick up some of Jody's things so that another little guy or girl who is waiting for a home could use them. It was, in some small way, a gesture of thanks to all of you who work with these wonderful dogs It is not the time for me to get a new baby, but knowing that some little cutie is wearing his harness or sleeping in his new bed brings me some comfort.

Thanks for all your good work,
Patty C.

Update on Lilly

Tue, 28 Nov 2006 03:34:46 +0000 - from Michelle

Lilly and Daisy

Hi! I was just visiting the website and thought I would send an update on Lilly. I adopted her back January 9, 2005! Coming up on two years!! I don't know what I would do without my "Little Lilly"!! She is such a funny little girl. The first pic is not even her kennel. She does not stay in a kennel, but always wants to stay with big sissy Daisy in hers. Then, the second pic, if there is a blanket around, Lilly is "rooting" to get under it. No matter what she has to lay on!!

Thanks for letting me share these photos!

GA Success Story - Adrian

Mon, 26 Feb 2007 12:06:19 -0500 - from Gary

Adrian

Adrian is doing just fine in her new home. The first day or two was a little different, but it would be the same for us if we went to a new home. Every time I lay on the couch she jumps strait on my chest and gives a hug. As you will be able to see, she still does the "Adrian Hugs", espically after you take her for her walk or give her a treat. She loves to look outside the glass door like most minpins.

We were also concerned how she would react around children. We have two nieces (5 and 3), they spent the night with us one week after we got her and Adrian was on the bed with both of them sleeping the first night they were there. She loves to sleep with her pink bear at the foot of our bed. Her and the cat are learning to share parts of the bed as well. She has herself a home now where she loves and truely is loved. Thank you and all the minpin rescue family for bringing this little four legged angel into our family.

Maximux Decimous Meridious

Sat, 15 Sep 2007 23:54:27 -0400 - from Melissa

Max

Hi Debra,

This is Melissa. Been a long time! Was browsing through the IMPS success stories and thought I would give you an update on the Maxius (Baby) my husband calls him Maximux Decimous Meridious commander of the puppies to the north (ie the move gladiator) I just call him Max. We have thoroughly enjoyed having him and he is def daddy's dog. It's funny Mimi ( the one we already had) is just like me and Max is exactly like me husband. Max and Mimi are a funny pair. They sleep, play and are very protective of each other. When we go to the dog park Max sometimes growls at other dogs that get to frisky with her...in turn she gives his ears a bath every morning. and hurray,,,he can hold his bladder while I'm at work..They finally made it to the point that they have complete free rein of the house all day, even while we are at work, so he spends his whole day playing with the mountain of toys he has, chasing his sister or barking at the squirrels through the window (i think the squirrels figured out that he couldn't get them because they keep getting closer to the window!!) Anyway..thank you thank you for this fabulous organization that you help run...if we had tons of room we would take on even more...but 2 hyper ones are enough for now!!! Anyway, we recently visited the vet and Max has lost a couple pounds and is a strong muscular 20pds and looking good. He takes his glucosomine (sp) daily and eats healthy food and gets lot of exercise. So all is good in the Baxter house. I have included some recent pictures of him sleeping with his daddy. And a few of his sister.

Thanks
Melissa

Jim & Samson "ADCH"

Thu, 19 Jun 2008 09:06:48 -0400 - from Lynn

Mag, can you please put one of the pics and the blurb about Jim & Samson below on the website......it's pretty incredible.

Some background: Samson was a foster dog of mine in GA. Diane was an agility competitor living in the northeast. She saw Samson on the website, whom I was looking for an agility home for, and drove her RV down to GA to pick him up after she was approved. Shortly after, Diane was killed when her RV swerved on the road in IL, headed home from an agility show. Her best friend, Jim, seen in the photograph took Samson, continued his training and you can see the results below.

Diane would be SO proud! ;)

Lynn, Director & Regional Coord.-IMPS AL/GA

Jim, Samson

Hi Lynn,

I thought I'd drop you a line so you can see how Samson is doing. Last weekend we were in Wilmot Wisconsin at a U.S.D.A.A. trial when Jim and Samson got their ADCH. A couple of things to note about the picture are the picture on the shirt, both women died on the same weekend, Bonnie on Saturday from cancer and Diane on Sunday in that tragic auto accident, also in trying everything he could for the ADCH, he finally broke down and ran bare foot ala Diane who never wore shoes when running the dogs. I thought maybe you could pick one of the pictures for the IMPS web site. Jim and Samson will also be at the AKC Invitational this year as will Barb and Nikki and me and Charlie and currently we believe Samson is the #1 min pin in AKC agility for 2008.

Brinks

I just wanted to check in with you since it's been a couple of weeks. Things are going great with our new little guy. He's gotten used to his new name, Brinks :) We have him on a pretty regular schedule of going on walks and going outside to do his duties! He has been such an amazing dog! He loves to snuggle and is so loyal. We've been introducing him to new people and new dogs to see how he'll react and he's been doing pretty well. We just wanted to say hello and thank you again for putting us together with our puppy!

Success Story - Mary's 1st hour home!

Mon, 27 Apr 2009 11:10:40 -0700 (PDT) - from Margaret, via Brandy

Mary

Hi Brandy!

I just wanted to send you a note and thank you for all your help and coordination of getting Mary to us. We absolutely love her! Andrew took this picture about an hour after we got home! She did great for the 3 hour car trip, ran around the house up and down the stairs checking it all out, finally crashing in my lap for a nap!

She is so quiet and well mannered. We were afraid she could't talk (which would't have mattered to us) but I took her out right before dark and a big bunny was in the yard and she barked at the bunny! I walked her down to meet my Mom and Dad, and my friend Barbara who you talked to, brought her kids and came to meet her, too. I fed her before we ate and then she got in her bed while we ate dinner- did't beg at all- I just ca't believe how perfect she is!

I'll stay in touch, but just wanted to thank you and everyone involved in her care what a wonderful girl she is and we will take good care of her- She is and will continue to be spoiled!

Thanks again!

Margaret

Pincher NOW Sport's Success Story

Mon, 18 May 2009 13:53:22 -0700 (PDT) - from Brandy

Sport

Sport is a love, very cuddly and vocal. He has some new toys to play with and does enjoy his playtime. He has fallen out of his bed (bed is on the floor) a couple of times and the look on his face was hilarious. Jackson and Sport are at times like a couple of teenage boys jealous of the attention the other is receiving and let one another know with their growls. Jackson is not a real playful one, but at times does plat a little with Sport; they do follow one another outside. We know Sport can never be off leash outside, he is so inquisitive out there and very alert to the different sounds.

Rich and I are happy that Sport is with us, he is a great addition to our family.

Will keep you posted with new photos.

Hudson's Success Story

Wed, 20 May 2009 15:04:23 -0700 (PDT) - from Brandy

Hudson

Hudson is doing great! I assure you he is happy and well loved. He loves his 2 mile walk each morning.

You would be surprised at how simple the adjusting has been so far. Guess we three have fallen in love. We are allowing plenty of time for the adjustment with our cat Foxy - then we will be a foursome in love. They both are curious and we allow nose to nose contact when we are holding them. Right now they know each other and they look across the room at each other but we aren't rushing their exchange. It will unfold naturally.

Oh - Hudson has no food issues but then he doesn't have to share his feast with other dogs. He eats right in the kitchen with us and takes his healthy treats right out of our hands.

He loves our drives. Believe me - he is thriving with all the attention he is receiving. He especially loves his lap time which actually is quite extensive.

We took him to our vet on Tuesday. He checked him from his nose to the tip of his tail - all was well.

I am very impressed with your rescue organization and the wonderful caring people I have encountered during the process.

Blessings,

Ruth & Jim

Success Story: Shadow

Thu, 13 May 2010 09:52:23 -0700 (PDT) - from Cynthia, via Brandy

Shadow

Hi, my name is Shadow Farmer. I want to let you know just how much I love and appreciate my new forever family. They seem to really love me, kinda like they have been waiting all their lives for "a me"!

I now have a mom, a brother 16, another brother 19 and a sister 21. In the morning when my mom awaits she takes me to my outside gate enclosure. I have a chance to potty and stretch my legs for bit. Then she comes back to get me so I can have my breakfast. Sometimes I don't want to go back out right away, and mom says that's ok. She lets me take a nap. When I wake up, she lets me go back outside, in my protective gate. I get to watch the birds, the squirrels and the doggie next door, in his fenced backyard. I enjoy the sun and being outside in the warmth. When my mom comes to get me, it is time to take my brothers to school.

Shadow

Shadow

I "LOVE" to ride! I get to sit in my 19 year old brother's lap. We always go to the Chick-fil-A. And the ladies at the window always call for my morning nugget when they see me. My brother feeds me my nugget, slowly because he wants to make sure it is not too hot. Then I watch the cars, the buses and the people until I get sleepy, then he rubs my tummy and I go to sleep in his lap. I miss them when they get out. But mom says they gotta go to school and learn big people human stuff. That's ok, because I still have my mom and we get to go back home until my sister goes off to college for the day. I love her too. She is still not too sure of herself around me, but she lets me jump in her lap and soon she will learn it does not hurt me for her to pick me up. My 16 year old brother is my favorite. He walks with me and mom. He walks me with his friends in the neighborhood and he lets me sit at the foot of his bed while he plays games and talks with his friends. I get so excited when I see mom and him. We take him to work after school and mom has to pick him up as well.

Shadow

Shadow

My mom took me to the vet and the groomer. The vet answered mom's questions, so she can continue to be a good mom for me. The groomer trimmed my nails. I did not like that, but mom says I have to have them trimmed and what mom says, I don't have a choice I have to obey. I know it is for my good. Oh yeah, I almost forgotůmom got me a toothbrush, because the vet said I need my teefs cleaned. Yuck, yuck! Mom and I have tried it. Neither one of us is any good at it yet. But if I have not learned anything, I know my Mom, she is determined to get it right, do it right, because it's right. We will be experts soon. I still chase my tail sometimes, when I get so over-the-top happy because I know they are getting ready to take me somewhere. But they handle me well and I stop quickly. My mom makes sure I don't get too tired, too hungry, too cold or too hot. And if she can't take me with her, she safely secures me in my crate. I don't whine, because I know they love me and look out for "my" best interest. We are going to have big fun this summer. I cannot thank you all enough for taking such good care of me long enough to be adopted by my forever family, "The Farmers"!

Sincerely,
Shadow Farmer

Ps. Sorry about the length of my letter, but I did not know any other way to thoroughly express my glee!

Shadow
