I adopted Faith from Kristin in Indiana in July of this year. When we first got her she
was so frightened, but she has really warmed up and showed us what a loving puppy she is.
Here she is pictured on our bed. The first month she was with us she was so scared she
slept in the kitchen. Now she wouldn't pass up the bed for anything!! We just love her.
Thanks,
Mary in Illinois

Here's a recent pix of little Miss Penny, who is still not up for adoption due to her
medical problems and very well may never leave here. :-) We have got her weight down
from 6.9 to 4.1 in 5 months. I am very proud, now if only I could do it for me!!!

Hi, Mag -
I wonder if you would post this picture of Heather, who adopted little Rocky. Rocky was
originally from Kansas, went to Wisconsin, then was adopted by Heather near Chicago! Quite the
little traveler.
Heather sent this pic of him in his new "summer" tote. I'd say he looks pretty content. And
stylish!
Heather also just adopted Eboni from Georgia last weekend.....
Thanks.

A much-needed warm fuzzy from the wonderful Illinois family who adopted Indiana's Penny
last weekend:
Sherrie,
Penny is doing fabulous!! I was relieved to find that she is not as crazy as I had imagined.
Cody sets such a high standard of craziness that it makes Penny look mellow. They definitely
balance each other out. She is the brains, and he is the brawn. We were also afraid that she
would have a problem with accidents in the house, like you had warned us of, but she only had 1
accident (barely a drop) so we told her 'no', and took her outside to go, she's been great ever
since. She is so dainty, and feminine that is really refreshing to be able to have a girly dog!
I'm glad to have some more estrogen in the house!
We understand that you miss her, but don't worry, she's in really good hands with us! We will
love her forever, and take wonderful care of her!
I've attached some pictures that we took of them on Saturday afternoon. It was such an icky
day outside, that we just spent it playing inside! I got a really good shot of Penny watching
the rain pour down from our window. We have a bunch more regular pictures that we haven't had a
chance to scan in yet.
Thanks so much!

Hi, Mag!
Connie (in KY) suggested that I send you pictures of the burns on Kiesha's back. She thought
that maybe they could be posted on the Saluki site to generate some donations...
Thanks for all you do :)

Mag:
Have to send you a picture of our IMPS mini pin,
Minnie. We adopted Minnie earlier this summer.
We adopted Minnie with Geraldine's help from the Ft. Wayne, Indiana kill shelter where she
was surrendered by her "family". My husband was there looking at a male dog (who would have
nothing to do with him) when Geraldine got the call. They decided to go to the shelter where
they found 2 people trying to muzzle this little girl for a shot. My husband walked over and
picked her up--she instantly relaxed.
That night he came home with 6 whole pounds of black & tan attitude. She was so thin her
little hip bones stood out and her ribs were visible. Don't think she was socialized much but
we have successfully taken her to fairs and most recently to our 20-yr college reunion where we
stayed in the college hotel. Everyone was amazed at how well behaved our "kids" were.
She now has a perfectly appropriate layer of fat over her tiny little ribs, a shiny black
coat and is the boss over 2 cats and our older dog. Minnie uses her cuteness with deadly
accuracy but is never pushy or yippy.
Minnie is by far the most interesting little dog we've ever had. We are very happy to have
her. Thanks to Geraldine and IMPS.
FYI -- I keep a reference to IMPS on my company's
intranet classified ads and tell everyone what a wonderful organization you have.
Best regards for the holidays!
Elizabeth

16 Feb - from Sarah
Scrappy is in heaven in his new home. Scrappy was formerly a stray found in Indy and he has
been living in Ft Wayne with us for almost 2 months now. He is about 10 months old now and
weighs around 12 lbs. He has made best friends with both of our labs, Moab and Raider, and he
never wants to stop playing.
He gets to go on walks in the park almost everyday....and he HAS
to be in front of the other dogs....because he is the boss. When he first came to us, he was a
bit shy, but that only took about 3 days. Ever since then, he hasn't stopped bouncing off of
the furniture. He loves to cuddle in between daddy's legs under the covers. We also recently
discovered how Scrappy figured out he can jump the fence. Neither one of our labs can come
close, but Scrappy can scale the nearly 4 ft fence with ease. He only jumps over the fence to
go in one of our neighbors backyard where Toby the poodle lives. If Toby is not outside, he
will jump back over the fence just by calling his name. We will definitely have to invest in a
privacy fence this spring, since Toby has an inground pool!
Here are a few pictures of Scrappy and his new friends. Scrappy loves to wear a fleece when
he goes on a walk- especially with it being so cold out lately. Scrappy wanted to thank IMPS
for finding him such a good home. It was much better than being on the streets!
